Norma Clarke

“For the psst five years I served as the Medical Director of the Adolescent Treatment Program of the Menninger Clinic. I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in acute care, residential settings and in outpatient settings. In all my work I have learned the value of careful history taking and slow and careful medication management for all diagnostic categories. I have expertise in diagnosing and treating bipolar disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, mood and psychotic disorders. Medications are not the end point and habits of thinking and erroneous beliefs and stress management also need to be addressed.
Psychopharmacology with adults and adolescents is one of my strong areas. I'm very careful and thoughtful with medications. I work with adults, children as young as six years old and with adolescents. I am pleased to provide second opinions about diagnoses or case consultations as needed.
I like working with other therapists who are willing to have a dialogue with me about patient care. I like teamwork. I'm a Jamaican who's trained in the US ... cultural issues interest me and I work well with English speaking immigrant families.”
